Usually my winters are pretty quiet but wouldn’t you know, I’ve had several jobs that want to be finished by spring. This is the year that I wish I’d managed to finish my wall brackets so that my stock was up off the ground and not subject to ice burial. I had to take a hatchet to get at some of it.
It’s been one storm after the other this winter. Actually started in the fall with lots of overcast and wet weather. Now it’s cold enough for snow, except when it’s freezing rain. The last storm left a couple inches of glaze ice on snow on top of a couple inches of frozen rain on top of previous snow.
At least I insulated the shop so that it’s easier to stay warm when I’m not actually forging.
